Why you feel stupid? (7 reasons why your suggestions ain’t good enough..)
Humiliating ourselves for the lack of knowledge and ability to respond? We’ve all been there and done that, unfortunately.
Humiliating ourselves for the lack of knowledge and ability to respond? We’ve all been there and done that, unfortunately.
Whether we’re having trouble keeping up with our work requirements in the office or struggling with a subject at school, it can be incredibly demoralizing when we are pacified for our inability to respond due to a shortage of brain power. Sometimes when facing these situations, it is easy to forget that our mind was designed to hold only so much information – not more, which is why it might seem like such an unattainable goal at times.
The interconnectedness brought by the internet has opened profound doors, giving us instant and access to diverse streams of knowledge. The downside of this interconnectedness however, is that fact-checking a suggestion or proposal is simpler than ever - and perceptions of progress slighted. Here in this blog I try to explain why you are not moving in the cognitive front of producing actionable solutions, with the aim to inspire progress along your journey. So think outside of the fact check, explore possibilities while ensuring accuracy - it's time to bridge the realms of interconnected technology and thoughtful problem solving!
Here are 7 reasons why your suggestions ain’t good enough!
You don’t know how to market your ideas. We live in an age of knowledge, and marketing's the key to unlock your ideas. If you have an innovative idea that you think can change people's lives, how will they know? We can't just sit back and wait for a spark of recognition; we need to get creative in how we explain it. It takes a thorough understanding of how to imprint information on other people's minds, how to quickly break down barriers of communication between beginners and more experienced users – all while being persuasive! That's why my next blog will be exploring why successfully marketing your ideas is essential if you want your message to reach its full potential. Stay tuned!
You’re lying (most likely!). It's no mystery that telling the truth is an extremely hard thing to do. It's often uncomfortable, especially when it goes against our biases, and takes more moral conscious than we expect. Lying can be seen as an evolutionary trait; by omitting certain information or adding information that isn't existent, we think we’re preserving our own interest, but often all it does is further hurt people. The truth preserves life on earth- if we try and foster it, the results could benefit humanity greatly. Lying only brings pain and negative consequences in the long run. Like they say, if you don't have anything nice to say... maybe just don't say anything at all! Bottom line: telling the truth is hard- so embrace it and reap its rewards!
Your reputation is tarnished. Life is full of difficult choices and unavoidable situations, but one thing you can always control is trying to make morally sound decisions. Do not do stupid things, avoid useless complaints and be cautious when establishing relationships - all these small and simple steps will greatly help guard your reputation from tarnishing. Having a tarnished reputation doesn't just impact how others perceive you, it also doesn't give you credibility even if what you're saying is true. The only sure way to ensure that trust is established in any setting is by consistently exhibiting trustworthy behavior so that others recognize your commitment to making strong moral decisions.
Your ability to listen is extremely weak. Open your mind and heart to truly listen - that's the first step on the road to helping others find the right solutions. The truth is, since we don't always take time to truly listen - we can miss out on some information that would best suit an individual's needs. Going beyond being present and actively listening, it's important to be mindful of the person you're conversing with; they may not even realize what their problem is. If you commit yourself to really listening deeply and with intention, you give them the chance to work through that dialogue and construct their own answers. Open your mind and heart, and watch the room fill up with possibilities!
Your health is struggling. We often think that our lives can be determined by just the use of our brains and that nothing else matters, but this isn't true. We are constantly bombarded with issues from the outside world but despite this we need to take the time to look at how our universe within us is operating, to do this properly we mustn't forget our physical needs. Eating a balanced diet and lots of exercise are key to really supporting our inner workings and are much less complex strategies than you might think. Whether it's taking up a mindfulness practice or simply allowing your brain to feel your body, it all helps us remember as humans how important it is for us to take care of ourselves no matter what comes at us - because in reality this is just common sense!
Information overload. With a deluge of information in our current landscape, it has become a dizzyingly difficult task to discern the truth from untruth in our day-to-day living. Whether we check in with Instagram to stay in the loop or we're catching up via Netflix, it's hard not to get lost in the sea of information endlessly floating around and quickly give in for fear of missing out on what everyone else is talking about. Unfortunately, this can be detrimental in the long run - as overconsumption eventually takes its toll and in time hurts our bodies and brains. We've all become so engrossed in this pursuit for data that we need to step back and take the time to relearn how valuable peace and clarity can truly be.
You haven’t found your ‘why’. Navigating life is not easy; most of us can admit that we fail to maintain a strong sense of direction quite often. However, having a moral compass can act as a navigational tool for our path in life, helping to correct course when winds of uncertainty and hardships blow our way. This doesn't mean that all of our decisions are going to be straightforward from here on out; rather, it could help prepare us to take on the unexpected and provide some insight into difficult questions, such as why something bad might be happening in our lives and how we can use this situation as a lesson. With this newfound understanding, we can confidently say yes to opportunities heading our way, avoiding being detoured down dead-end roads due to bad knowledge or wrong decisions.
I'm a firm believer in the notion that given enough time, effort and understanding, anyone can become anything — and for me, this is a lesson that has been made all too clear.
In the span of two years, I managed to not only become a proficient guitar player and understand the intricacies of music, but also learn martial arts such as Don Jitsu Ryu and successfully train for a marathon. Ultimately, even if you never quite make it to absolute mastery, understanding your limits through these kinds of experiences will always help you gain insights into what makes for a well-lived life. If we can all just take ahold of the reason behind why success in any field requires time, effort and understanding; who knows what each one of us can achieve!

They are making the world a better place for us and many generations to come! A big reason why I started this project is to increase my reach in helping people. Your support will go a long way! I was in Siargao, Philippines last December (2022) and there was a group of musicians performing in all the bars in the town to get donations so they can buy Ukeleles for kids. I am aiming to donate at least 1,000 USD this year to them too.
