Your inner monster
The shadows we carry inside ourselves can often come out to haunt us in more ways than one.
Every human being is equipped with self-control, but the truth is, very few understand the power of self-control and can actually use it to their advantage.
Similarly, self-control on a deeper sense cannot be achieved overnight; it requires determination and self-awareness. Those who possess this deep self-control are like superheroes in my book as they better comprehend that monster which lurks inside them and don't let its temptation master them. After all, self-control is an important element of life that too often gets overlooked.
The shadows we carry inside ourselves can often come out to haunt us in more ways than one.
The truth of the matter is that people who cause pain and suffering typically don't understand their own darksides, letting them take control and wreak havoc. I've personally been through a gripping confrontation with my shadows, and it was a harrowing experience that taught me to keep an eye on them so they don't run amok while I go about my business. So if you ever find yourself struggling to understand why the world is full of so much pain, remember the shadows lurking in the corners - they force us to deal with our own inner turmoil if we are ever going to hope to bring peace into our lives.
Pioneers of our society have consistently demonstrated an impressive control over themselves during times of intense pressure and adversity.
After all, they understand the tremendous capacity they possess to cause pain and suffering if they fail to find success. As great leaders and innovators, pioneers have recognised the consequences of a misstep - there is so much at stake for society's future. It is this knowledge that motivates them to conquer every challenge and emerge stronger than before.
My biggest fear is lurking in the shadows, lurking in a place I’ve only just begun to explore - understanding myself and my capacities.
My capacity to love or hurt, do good or bad, innovate or destroy - these realities haunt me and, in an effort to allay these fears, I continually search for knowledge that will reinforce my understanding of them. It’s a never-ending process of self-discovery that leaves me feeling both exhausted yet exhilarated. And so it goes - the quest continues!
